Born Surrey, 1957. Studied at Leek and Coventry Schools of Art graduating in 1984. Has exhibited with Jill George Gallery since 1995 with regular solo shows from 1997.

Public collections include the Victoria & Albert Museum, the British Museum and Pallant House in Britain and the Minneapolis Institute of Art in Minnesota, USA. In 2013/14 her drawing was included in 'British Drawings: 1600 to the Present Day' at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

From 2009 Alison has been working with monotypes, which are now form an integral part of her work.

Three monologues have been published on her work: 'The Human Image', in 2002, 'Emotion and Expression', in 2005 and ‘Face to Face’ in 2008. An exhibition catalogue, 'Human Presences' was published in 2015. The books are available at the Gallery.
